Secretaries Association * will be holding a Certification
Study Group in preparation for the Attaining this goal indicates your
commitment and aptitude for succeeding in the ever-changing legal
environment. Personal motivation is
necessary to attain such a goal. The knowledge gained in preparing for the
examination hones your on-the-job skills, so your duties can be performed
more efficiently. Class Dates: June 13, June 27, July 11, July 25,
August 8, August 22, September 12 Day and Time: Saturday,
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Location: Cox
Smith Matthews Incorporated, 112 E. Pecan, 18th Floor Kitchen, San
Antonio, TX 78205 Cost: First-time
attendees: Non-refundable fee of $50
for SALSA members/$75 for non-members.
Attendees
for retakes: Non-refundable fee of $30 for SALSA members/$60 for
non-members. NOTE: This price covers only
study session from June through September and does not include cost of books,
examination fee, or other resource materials. Exam date: ALS,
PLS, and PP exams are given on a national basis on Saturday,
September 26, 2009. Examination
testing site will be in San Antonio. About

Requirements: ALS exam: One
year experience PLS exam: Three
years experience (or more) or passed ALS exam PP exam: Any
person who has five years’ experience performing paralegal/legal assistant
duties (a candidate may receive a partial waiver of one year if he or she has
a post-secondary degree, other certification, or a paralegal certificate; a
candidate with a paralegal degree may receive a two-year partial waiver). Current PLS’s only need to take Part 4 in
order to achieve PP Certification.
